Overview
Universiti Malaya is Malaysia's oldest university, set on a 922-acre campus in the southwest of Kuala Lumpur. It traces its roots to the King Edward VII College of Medicine, founded in Singapore in 1905, and became Universiti Malaya in 1949 through that college's merger with Raffles College. Following legislation in 1961, Universiti Malaya was established as a national university on 1 January 1962.
