Overview

Art and Design develops creative thinking and visual communication skills to shape how people see, use and experience the world. Students explore drawing, design principles, colour theory, digital media, art history and creative problem-solving, then build a professional portfolio through studio projects, exhibitions, live client briefs and industry collaborations.

Malaysia is a vibrant place to study creative subjects. Its multicultural heritage, growing creative industries and active design, animation and digital media scene give students plenty of inspiration and opportunities. Programmes are available at every level, all taught in English:

  • Foundation (e.g. Foundation in Art & Design)
  • Diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's
  • PhD

Programmes are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), and several universities offer dual or twinning degrees with partners in the UK and Australia. Many programmes ask applicants for a portfolio of their creative work. Lower tuition and living costs make Malaysia an affordable place to develop a creative career.
